It’s when guests start asking me “So how do you know the bride and groom?” And in most cases I have to respond with “Oh, I just met them for the first time this morning” And usually that follows with “Oh, they seem so comfortable with you, everyone does. I thought you were an old friend or maybe a member of the family”. For me, as a wedding photographer, to capture the photos I love and the shots that make me buzz when I’m editing them the number one talent you need is to make people relax in your company. It starts with me having an absolute love of people, I’m fascinated by everyone. But my ability to read and respond to people is my greatest asset in this job. Any monkey can press a button on a camera, but it’s the 10 seconds before and how you make people that creates and captures the memory. Choosing a photographer for your wedding is a very personal thing. Avoid the tw@s or anyone that makes you feel uncomfortable. Meet as many as you can and judge them by how well you get on, how relaxed you are in their company not by their portfolios of the shape of their albums. Last year I met 50% of my couples on their wedding day. Of course we chatted via email and usually on the phone too beforehand. Being mistaken as an old friend or family member is the greatest compliment. #weddingplanning #weddingideas #weddinginspiration #ceridwencentre #priodas #weddingmoments #weddingphotography #weddingphotos #2020wedding #2020weddingtrends #pbxp #brideandgroom #weddinggown #doubledecker #bus #penybank #greenweddingswales #welshgreenweddings
