Last week was Photography Farm week. It’s an opportunity for photographers to come together and inspire each other at the start of the 2015 wedding season.

On Thursday Adam Bronkhorst of Viva Wedding Photography took us through ‘Advanced Flash’ which was immensely informative and fun. Having been a big fan of flash use for a couple of years it was great filling in the gaps in my knowledge as well as being inspired to try something sun and new, especially on those rainy day indoor weddings.

Friday was all about ‘Viva Love’ with Matt Miller from Diamond Eyes. It was great meeting up with Dan Hough from Manchester, Paul from ‘Hole in a Box‘ and Sarah/Sassy from Assassynation Photography who I have followed for some time and shared the workshop with us. Matt is a friendly and laid back dude from Atlanta and has been making the most awesome wedding photography for quite a few years. His workshop covered his background from skating to touring the world in his band and how he found himself in wedding photography.

In the afternoon we had a workshop shot with Kat from Rock’n’roll bride and her lovely (and slightly overwhelmed) husband Gareth. This was great fun and everyone got involved, including Lisa Devlin who had organised the whole week.

Another photographer from the list of ‘Top 10 Best Wedding Photographers in the WorldSamm Blake also sat in the session and we chatted later in the evening during the pool party and she was one of the nicest people I have ever met. For the first 30 minutes of our conversation I didn’t really know who she was until I asked her name and swore in embarrassment that I hadn’t recognised her.

All in all an awesome experience and has inspired me to really push myself and get shooting the best photos of my life during 2015! I’m so going back next year – can’t wait!

Here’s a small selection of the photos from Friday . . . .
