During the week I was asked to take a small set of photos for a local magazine restaurant review of Arbennig which is on Romilly Crescent in Cardiff. It’s a beautiful restaurant that offers a full and mouthwatering menu and already has great reviews online.
I enjoy these restaurant photography jobs, especially if the venue looks this amazing. There was beautiful afternoon sunlight beaming in under the canopies that made the whole restaurant shine. The updated decor is tasteful and warm. The theme reminds me of a food painting and the walls are decorated with the beautiful artwork of Nick Davies.
“We’ve worked hard on our new restaurant and are really proud of it: it’s a relaxed environment just as suited to a business lunch as it is to a catch up with good friends or a special occasion.” says their website and they have pretty much got everything perfect.
The staff that I met were delightful and I will certainly be making another visit to Arbennig, although next time as a customer. I know that I would start with the Crisp shredded belly pork, apples & aged feta, chilli & lemon honey. For mains I would probably go for either the Marbled beef rump with peppercorn sauce and hand cut chips or with a Glamorganshire lamb shepherd’s pie with steam greens & carrots. Yoghurt pannacotta with honey roasted figs to finish. Can’t wait.
