Annaliese & Oli – Battersea Arts Centre Wedding Photographer

The Yin & the Yang
Part water, Part fire
Swirled all around,
Mad with desire.
Yang searches for
his perfect Yin girl
To always be his lover, his friend,
in essence, his whole world.
Yin wants a Yang who is dark,
handsome & strong
She wants everlasting love
that will never go wrong.” – Becca Cooling

Oli is one of the most meticulously organised people I have ever met. I mean, REALLY organised. I love a good spreadsheet, I have one for nearly everything in my life, but Oli planned this wedding day using a spreadsheet that used every function, equation, formula and colour coding system that Excel has. Everything, down to the minute. To be fair to him, his planning wasn’t in vain and the hard work paid off with a day that was uniquely regimented yet relaxed and fun at the same time. This was partly due to Annaliese and her calm, relaxed and fun persona that brought everything back down to earth.

Whilst they were refurbing (rebuilding) their house they have been renting just around the corner from the Arts Centre which was where we caught up with Annaliese in the morning. Oli was at a friends house that was 3 minutes closer to Wandsworth Town Hall where the ceremony took place. Once everyone was ready we had an 8 minute car journey to Wandsworth (Oli’s was just 5 minutes, but he knew a shortcut that lowered it to 4 1/2 minutes).

Wandsworth Town hall is perfect for wedding photography. The Chamber, where the ceremony took place, is a grand hall with marble walls and a glass ceiling. We were able to make use of the beautiful interior architecture, the grand staircase as well as the courtyard outside.

I woke up on the morning of this wedding with no voice. I can recommend Vocal-Zone to anyone who finds themselves in the same situation. I supplemented it with paracetamol, tunes, pro-plus and ibuprofen throughout the day just to keep going and allow myself to be able to speak. I pulled it off though and enjoyed being the Battersea Arts Centre Wedding Photographer for the day!

The ride back to Battersea, and to the renowned arts centre took us 9 minutes on a traditional London bus. The speeches were incredibly funny. There was a moment where Oli nearly burst into a wedding day rap, although he saved that for the dancefloor later on when he sung Lionel Richie to his new wife and all their wedding guests.

The Albert Bridge holds special importance to Annaliese and Oli so was the planned destination for a swift photo shoot whilst their guests were moving to the third and last venue, the Lavender Bistro that enjoys a late night licence, cocktails, great music and food.

The last photo in this set is me enjoying a first pint of the day at 23:45, just as I put away the camera and got involved in the party!
